Why do tracks 17-19 have songwriters when it has been confirmed that only three songs will be on the deluxe edition and the remaining tracks are phone memos? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.241.97.50 (talk) 06:00, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

I recommend removing that section, or hide, until more information about the new single. I do not see anything that provides that section, which is almost empty and has few references and writers. No better place would be confirmed when all Easy ?.--Damián (talk) 11:55, 19 August 2014 (UTC)
When I open the iTunes Store entry for 1989 in the column browser view, it lists Swift as the sole composer of all tracks except for "Shake It Off", for which Swift, Martin, and Shellback are listed. Here is a screenshot. Where did the songwriting credits currently shown in the Wikipedia article come from? Littlecarmen (talk)

Taylor announced on her official Facebook and Twitter that a song called "Welcome to New York" (track one on the album) will be released October 20th. The track runs 3 minutes and 22 seconds
Sources:
The tracklist of the album posted is fake; Taylor herself confirmed it on her Tumblr account: http://taylorswift.tumblr.com/post/100293917445/billboard-could-this-be-the-1989-track-list — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.24.100.207 (talk) 14:37, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
We've got this in the article: "a deluxe edition, consisting of three extra songs and three voice memos, will be available exclusively at Target." That makes it sound like the extras are the only thing on this edition, but in fact it has all the standard tracks plus the extras. I had changed this to "a deluxe edition, including three extra songs..." but got reverted. I still like my version better. Kendall-K1 (talk) 23:37, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
Swift revealed that the last song on the album was co-written with Imogen Heap on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Here's a source 2601:C:780:234:1179:13E7:EA6F:CDD1 (talk) 04:10, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

The track list for the deluxe edition in this article claims track 15 to be "You R In Love" however this is incorrect. Referring to the cited source (https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/1989-deluxe/id907104698) it should be "You Are In Love".

Someone should create a songs and lyrics section like the one for her Speak Now album. It would add a lot to the article. <Cajalden (talk) 21:33, 28 October 2014 (UTC)>
I would like to add in a note about how a dispute over streaming this album has resulted in Swift pulling her entire catalog from the streaming service Spotify. I was thinking of adding in a note similar to the one I added to the Spotify article:
Swift and the management of Spotify got in dispute over how to stream the album, in response she pulled her entire catalog off of the streaming service on November 3, 2014."Taylor Swift says goodbye to Spotify". USA Today. Retrieved 4 November 2014.. 69.14.38.40 (talk) 05:30, 4 November 2014 (UTC)

Footnote 62 reads "Taylor Swift Album & Song Chart History" Billboard 200 for Taylor Swift. Prometheus Global Media. Retrieved November 2, 2014. This is a bogus link and has nothing to do with verifying Taylor Swift's '1989' LP is #1 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums. The link refers to Taylor Swift's RED LP. If you go to the current Billboard chart it shows Slipknot as #1. Although it may be true 1989 will be #1 next week this footnote currently has no merit & should be deleted and the author should be held accountable. 184.76.56.97 (talk)JSJR 11052014

"Style" is being released to Hot AC stations on February 9. The first release date should be used. Here is the link [1] 76.111.218.13 (talk) 13:53, 16 January 2015 (UTC)
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of 1989 (Taylor Swift album)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "slant":
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 23:51, 19 January 2015 (UTC)

wanted to add a cited fact to the 'recording' section. why is this locked anyways?
EDIT: the fact added would be that the album was influenced by acts such as Prince and Annie Lennox in the way it was gonna be a huge album http://www.billboard.com/articles/events/year-in-music-2014/6405615/taylor-swift-1989-album-number-one-charts-2014
please add :) I always thought '1989' sounded very Princely to me Faris 161 (talk) 16:08, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
hello! i am aGastya. And i want to say: recently swift's social accounts were hacked and then she trademarked phrases from her songs in 1989 album. I doubt I haven't presented the matter neatly. Can anybody help me! aGastya 19:01, 2 February 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by AgastyaC (talk • contribs)

"Wonderland" was released today (Feb. 17) as a single in the US. It should be added to the singles box. Here's the link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/wonderland-single/id964325199 190.194.10.99 (talk) 20:15, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

All of the curly quotation marks and apostrophes in this article should be straight (as per MOS:PUNCT). The "We begin our story in New York" paragraph should be un-italicized (WP:QUOTE says "Do not put quotations in italics unless the material would otherwise call for italics"). Thanks. The lead says “Swift's writing is less "boycentric," frequently employs tropes and is predominantly in the third-person, showing greater sophistication.” but only two out of sixteen songs on the album are in third person?? Please at least change to “Swift's writing is less "boycentric," and frequently employs tropes, showing greater sophistication.”
&& on a similar note who says “boycentric” makes something less sophisticated? Nobody even said that in the Critical reception part and even so it should have been set off with “Critics have called it…” Taylor has always been known for writing smart lyrics…—♥ Kelvinsong talk 13:51, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
