Hello!! Wait as I review the article!

@Dora the Axe-plorer: in rest everything is pretty great! And yeah, if you don't have any images that captures the event, it's fine. Editoneer (talk) 09:26, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'll attend the technical writing issues in a while. The rest below I can respond faster.
  • You'll have to request and download the catalog (Download and legal in side menu). The data is an excel sheet and there's a lot to go through. That's a bit much work so I'll take you to the Technical tab in the USGS event page, listed under Origin, the catalog ISCGEM states 5.8 mw.
  • Select "Significant Earthquake Information" will take you to the page. The doi is supplied because the source requested it cited in a specified manner.
  • I stuck to [6] (Benouar et al. 1994) since that was published in three months after the earthquake; the extent of casualties is probably clearer. The other sources were published immediately after the event.
  • That's in Benouar et al. 1994, page 635, my attempt at rewording "usually limpid" ; I went through the source and reworded the damage, I misunderstood it previously
  • I couldn't find any media in English and Arabic searches
Thank you for highlighting these errors and clarifying. Dora the Axe-plorer (explore) 10:29, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've added compression "direction", I hope that clears the confusion.
The line left-lateral oblique-reverse faulting on an E–W striking plane means the hanging wall goes up-left along a plane oriented E–W. reverse faulting on a NE–SW striking plane means the hanging wall goes up along plane oriented NE–SW. There's not a lot I can do with this but I've linked strike and dip for readers to refer. Perhaps I shall link plane as well. Dora the Axe-plorer (explore) 10:45, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm assuming the hanging wall is going in a certain cardinal direction? If yes, what's NNW–SSE direction North North West - South South East? Editoneer (talk) 11:03, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
NNW–SSE is north-northwest–south-southeast, its the direction of compression in the large scale tectonics of the region; generally coming in from the north-northwest and south-southeast. Dora the Axe-plorer (explore) 11:26, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"right-lateraly reverse" wouldn't be accurate as the fault was neither of these at the same time. It means during that period, that fault had a right-lateral slip sense but is now displaying left-lateral and reverse slip. The fault now is defined as reverse slipping and doesn't exhibit the previous behavior. The history of this fault reflects on the complex tectonics that's mentioned in the first section. Since it's a possible source of the shock, the information is relevant. Dora the Axe-plorer (explore) 11:35, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ohh okay, got it. However, for the last problem, the newspaper's last part is cutoff which presumably it's where these muddy springs and additional 416 deaths are coming from, as it's not mentioned beforehand within the newspaper. Editoneer (talk) 11:38, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The report is available here, enter the DOI into the searchbar Dora the Axe-plorer (explore) 11:47, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also regarding the claim with radical Islam (Due to the presence of radical Islam threats on foreigners, Western aid organizations contemplated sending assistance), sending assistance means like sending military aid to not risk getting assaulted by extremists? Editoneer (talk) 12:17, 24 November 2022 (UTC)  Done[reply]
The source did not elaborate on this statement, I can only make personal assumptions for myself Dora the Axe-plorer (explore) 12:31, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Well that was a pretty fast review, good luck futher monsieur Axe-plorer and chat some type on Wikipedia:Discord if you'd like. Editoneer (talk) 13:49, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I did a search in Arabic and found two videos on YouTube and Facebook—probably the only existing media showing the effects of the Mascara disaster. Dora the Axe-plorer (explore) 08:19, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
