Some Greek Military Terms[edit]

Here is a small glossary of terms used in the Greek military. Dragases (talk) 13:35, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Correct Terminology[edit]

The correct name for the formation is 1st Raider/Paratrooper Brigade, 1η ΤΑΞΚΔ-ΑΛ (1η Ταξιαρχία Kαταδρομών-Αλεξιπτωτιστών) - 1 TAXKD-AL (1 Taxiarhia Katadromon-Alexiptotiston). The term "Commando" is not used in any official capacity in the Hellenic Army. Members of this brigade are "Raiders" (Katadromeas, Katadromeis); in addition, the term "Squadron" is used to denote the battalion-sized units that make up the Brigade, not "Battalion". Dragases (talk) 13:24, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The correct formation is as follows -

In addition, the history section refers to the history of the LOK in general, and not of this particular unit, which is of far more recent creation. It should be clarified that the current unit was established recently as an umbrella for all LOK formations. Someone knowledgeable enough should elaborate on this. Constantine 15:15, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Structure[edit]

The structure shown is not accurate. The regimental HQs do not exist, and haven't existed for two decades. The brigade has five battalions (B,D,E raider battalions and 1,2 paratrooper battalions), all directly under the brigade, the 14 signals company, the briagde HQ company and two company-sized training bases. ETA or any other unit do not belong to the brigade. The nominal strength of the brigade is around 2400 men.Xristar (talk) 15:24, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Program[edit]
