Two[edit]

This article is about two incidents, not one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.174.232.113 (talkcontribs) 11:15, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

One of which involved a sandbag, not a rock. The title needs to be fixed or the two incidents split into two articles.--Pontificalibus 14:55, 23 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, this is WP:SYNTH. The two events are entirely unrelated. Unless there is a source that claims otherwise, it's merely a coincidence that these two events happened on the same interstate in the same year. --Surachit (talk) 05:43, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Edits[edit]

The age of second victim was initially given as 22 and a couple of paragraphs later was erroneously given as 32. I corrected the second one to “22”, but one of the age references could probably be deleted, as it seems like needless repetition. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rommeltop (talkcontribs) 17:45, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm making edits to the page - I'm uncomfortable with several things in the article.

The first is that parts of this read like an obituary, with content like "leaving behind..." and other content that isn't really pertinent to Wikipedia's purposes. I'm not saying that these weren't tragic and preventable deaths, just that these elements don't have any bearing on the deaths.

The second is wording. Words like "hooligans" are inherently non-neutral and as such, should not be used in the article. The Wikipedia article is not a place to pass judgement on these kids. Even culprits is a bit dicey since it also comes with various associations.

Finally, I'm very uncomfortable with including the teenagers' names in the article. While they did commit a crime, I don't see that their identities are really absolutely necessary. There's also the question about including information about minors - even those committing a crime - on Wikipedia. I'm aware that their names are in the press, but given some of the tone issues in the article and the fact that there's some identifying information in there as to where they live, I'm worried that this could be used to track them down. There's also the question about the potential future harm this could cause them. Granted, I'm aware that their actions caused a person's death (in both cases, for both sets of teenagers) but some of these kids are pretty young, with one being 13. There's just the question of future harm here. Basically, I don't feel that we need their names to tell the story here. Of note is that not all of the sources name the teenagers, likely for the same reasons.

I've removed the names of the teenagers in both cases and removed the wording like "hooligans". I also removed culprits since it was a bit iffy. Finally, I edited the parts that sounded a little like an obituary - this was primarily the victim section. I'll bring this up at BLP/N just in case, though. "He received a sentence of 3 years to 20 years in prison"[edit]

Hi. What should that mean? 3 or 20 years? Sorry, i am not a native speaker. --Zulu55 (talk) 12:36, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
