@Wowzers122: Gede'o People Democratic Party should also be added as they won 2 seats I think, having trouble finding information about them though. RiverNile1 made an edit https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2021_Ethiopian_general_election&type=revision&diff=1033097297&oldid=1033066798&diffmode=source that was reverted by Gyrofrog for being a sockpuppet account and violating WP:THREESTRIKES, however content of the edit looks OK (and seems properly referenced). Not an expert so could be wrong, but will add it back soon unless there is a problem with the content specifically or any further rules this would violate. - Indefensible (talk) 20:30, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Before you do that, please consider that these accounts have a rather long, and documented, history of misrepresenting what their cited sources say (see Talk:Habesha peoples and its archives, as well as Pathawi's concerns at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cushitic peoples). In one instance (see here), they fabricated a citation to make a blog post appear as though it appeared in an academic journal. (It didn't.) -- Gyrofrog (talk) 20:41, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not following this page or this issue, but my experience with this sockpuppeteer at the erstwhile Cushitic peoples & Habesha peoples is as Gyrofrog describes. We're regularly dealing with fabricated sources, citations of real sources that do not contain the information at issue, &c. When I have reviewed contributions at these articles, the great majority of the time the sources adduced did not support the claims. I haven't looked at the edits in question here & have no opinion regarding them, but in general with this user I agree that either outright deletion or a careful reading of the sources cited is called for. I was procrastinating this morning (why do I do this to myself?) & read the sources provided. The expansion of the targets to include Gurage people as well as Amharas is justified by the articles, but none of the rest. It may or may not be true that the violence targeted Rastafarians & government-supporting Oromos—certainly non-Amharas/non-Gurage people were killed—but the groups RiverNile1 mentions are not identified as targets in these articles, two of which in fact explicitly identify targets. The article on Rastafarianism in Ethiopia was written four years prior to the massacre in question. Pathawi (talk) 04:33, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
