Djer is not the second pharaoh of Egypt according to Djer, and he only reigned for one year?

The July 2007 National Geographic article "Last Hours of the Iceman" claims that the mummy "...Iceman (or 'Otzi'), the oldest intact member of the human family."
With all of the nascent cultures listed on this page, including ancient Egypt, were there no other intact mummies?
If you click on the link to "wheel" after reading that passage under "inventions discoveries" it says the wheel was invented in the 5th millenium BC. So I'll erase this until Wikipedians settle this.
