Yamashita

[edit]

General Yamashita may indeed have been referred to as the "Butcher of Bataan" by Amercian soldiers or the press, but wasn't he embarrassing the British in Malaya at the time of the Death March? Regardless, given the fact that he is generally considered to have dealt with friend and foe alike in a humane manner (especially in comparison to his Japanese contemporaries) the purported nickname doesn't belong in an encyclopedic article.172.190.228.242 (talk) 23:31, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of 32nd Infantry Division (United States)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "gailey2000":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 13:11, 25 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Post-war criticism

[edit]

What is the purpose of the content of this section that is not related to the division? Is there a reason why Australian generals and their conduct during World War II is relevant to an article about a US army division? Sephiroth9611 (talk) 22:53, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
