CorenSearchBot suspects that I copy-pasted materials from this site: http://abualkian.com. Indeed, I took some facts from there, but first of all it's not a mere copy, but mainly a new text created after the data has been processed - I relied on several information sources. Second, I have a permission to use these materials. What should I do? Romayan (talk) 15:02, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You copied the text, and then modified it. This is not a good way to do it when the intent is to create new text without infringing copyright. Always use your own words.
If you have permission, document it. See [[1]] for how to document it - either place a notice on the site saying it's public domain or CC licensed, or send a mail to the OTRS from the site's admin address saying that permission has been given. --Alvestrand (talk) 05:05, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

10:31, 1 September 2012 (UTC) ok, I will do so in the coming week. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Romayan (talkcontribs)

Confirmation was sent to the aforementioned e-mail address giving me the official permission for the use of abuaalkian.com's materials here. Thank you.Romayan (talk) 10:49, 10 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Move in the 1950s

[edit]

I have updated the history section a bit. It is unclear why the tribe moved from Wadi Zubaleh. Adalah says that they were forced to move in the 1950s like most other Bedouin tribes. Haaretz says they moved due to a conflict. ImTheIP (talk) 11:00, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Here is an interesting tidbit from another page:

Umm al-Hiran is one of a large number of unrecognized Bedouin villages in the Negev desert of Israel. It was created in 1980 after a part of the Bedouin tribe of أبو القيعان (Abu al Qi'an or spelled as Abu al-Gian) left al Yatir, 3 kilometers away. They had settled al Yatir in 1956 with military permission after fleeing their homes near present-day Rehat where they had lived since arriving in Historical Palestine in 1910. Having been clients of the al Huza'il Tribe they were forced to escape that area after losing in a tribal war.

But the only source given is abualkian.com which is a defunct website. ImTheIP (talk) 11:55, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
