• Where is agricultural structure, agricultural profile of the country ? Only history?

There has been a slow-moving edit war here over the inclusion of this see also link. Reasons as provided in past edit summaries:

• Anti-inclusion: "unnecessary information, coca is illegal in Colombia"; "Colombia achieved a great decrease in cocaine production, leading White House drug czar R. Gil Kerlikowske to announce that Colombia is no longer the world's biggest producer of cocaine"; "vandalism"
• Pro-inclusion: "it may be illegal but it is nonetheless an agricultural product (and fairly important economically) and this article doesn't cover it"; "this is an agricultural product that is not trivial economically - even if colombia is no longer the world's #1 producer, doesn't mean it shouldn't be included here"

I would also add that according to our articles, coca production employs 67,000 households, whereas coffee production employs 566,000 households. As an additional point of comparison, cut flowers provide 94,000 direct jobs. I believe that coca production is significant enough to merit a see also link in this article. Maybe it would be undue weight to give equal space to coffee and coca in this article, but I don't think that a see also link is inappropriate. Calliopejen1 (talk) 21:23, 16 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

• I agree with its inclusion. The analogue, in my view, is Economy of Afghanistan (a redirect from Agriculture in Afghanistan). Both the article itself (as the first item at "Agriculture - products:") and the Category:Agriculture in Afghanistan include "opium" and Opium production in Afghanistan respectively. Agriculture is the largest GDP sector listed and opium is the first export item listed in the infobox. It might be illegal and that should be acknowledged, along with an NPOV acknowledgement of the efforts of consecutive governments to eradicate coca crops. But the article is about agriculture (legality is irrelevant) in Colombia. As long as it remains a major factor in Colombia's agricultural economy, it should be included. **The analogy is absurd, Colombia is very different from Afghanistan, the production of coca in Colombia does not represent a large part of GDP. Colombia produces many other products, agricultural and non-agricultural. Colombia is rich in natural resources, and its main exports include mineral fuels, oils, distillation products, precious stones, forest products, pulp and paper, coffee, meat, cereals and vegetable oils, cotton, oilseed, sugars and sugar confectionery, fruit and other agricultural products, food processing, processed fish products, beverages, machinery, electronics, military products, aircraft, ships, motor vehicles, metal products, ferro-alloys, home and office material, chemicals and health related products, petrochemicals, agrochemicals, inorganic salts and acids, perfumery and cosmetics, medicaments, plastics, animal fibers, textile and fabrics, clothing and footwear, leather, construction equipment and materials, cement, software, among others.
