Chain of Command

[edit]

My, we seem to be really going out of our way to point out that the Governor has no authority over and is not in the Chain of Command for the Alaska National Guard. Seems to be drifting off into politically motivated commentary rather than being encyclopedic. Look at the entry the state from which the last Governor for a national ticket came from, Arkansas. Alaska should mirror that, otherwise the entries are crap. I will clean it up in a day or two. --Geneb1955 (talk) 22:24, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"The governor commands AKNG while it is not in active federal service. The principal executive officer of DMVA, the adjutant general, is an appointee of the governor. The Army National Guard component and the Air National Guard components are each commanded by an assistant adjutant general appointed by the adjutant general with the concurrence of the governor. " [1] Seems to disagree with the assertion that Palin as governor has no authority. Isn't the case in most states that the Governor has control of the National Guard until they are in essence deployed though? --72.65.151.170 (talk) 09:09, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
