The role of Alexander Battenberg in the battle of Slivnitza[edit]
The present article says of the role of A.B. in the battle of "Slivnitsa":
"and after a victory at Slivnitsa (19 November), which Alexander had little to do with, having arrived in Slivnitsa after the battle (incidentally initiated by a volunteer of the rank of private) was already over,[1]"
The source is an officers statement.
The Danish newspaper <"Politiken" cites November 21. 1885> a wounded officer for saying, that A.B. personally leads the troops.
¨<November 24. 1885 Politiken> has a very detailed account of the battle and describes how A.B. arrives at Sofia November 16. and a few hours later at the battlefield at Slivnitza.
It describes how he personally encourages demoralised soldiers by his personal example and take the risks of a soldier in the battle.
I'm not an expert, but there certanly is a discrepancy and it needs to be cleared out.
