Amish/Mennonites vis-a-vis Orthodox Jews[edit]

"Due to some similarities in dress, culture, and language, Amish and Mennonite communities in particular have often been compared and contrasted to Hasidic Jewish communities."

I would, generally speaking and as a Modern Orthodox Jew myself, compare the Amish with the Hasidic Jews and the Mennonites with the non-Hasidic Orthodox Jews. In particular, from what I understand (and this is a rough much more than thorough comparison), Old Order Amish are the most similar to Hasidic Jews other than Habad-Lubavitch, New Order Amish are the most similar to Habad Hasidic Jews, Old Order Mennonites are the most similar to non-Hasidic Ultra-Orthodox Jews (also known as black hat, Yeshivish, yeshiva-world, Litvish, and the like), and New Order Mennonites are the most similar to Modern Orthodox Jews. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Therav (talkcontribs) 18:14, 23 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Twelve Tribes[edit]

I have removed the paragraph regarding the Twelve Tribes communities. The sole source in support of this paragraph is a Vice article quoting an anonymous American tourist describing the community as "Amish Jewish" without going into any further detail. Suffice to say, the cult does not espouse Anabaptist theology, does not identify as being part of the Anabaptist tradition, and has no demonstrable connection to Anabaptism.
