I agree with this. The Australian Electoral Commission has changed their colour over to Violet/purple, as has the ABC electoral coverage on tv tonight, and as have the commercial tv networks, too.
A consensus should be formed for the colours to be used for this party; both in terms of those listed in the colours section of the infobox and that which should be used for the party's module i.e., in aspects such as the bars seen in the infobox on how many seats the party holds. Currently the party is using purple (or something similar) for the bars when this is not listed as a party colour. Helper201 (talk) 17:13, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I can't, that's the point. I'm asking for other views and if other editors may know or be able to find such information, as I currently have not been able to. I'm fully aware of the standard procedure you're explaining. If I knew of reliable sources that stated as such, I would've changed this and not even opened an rfc. I don't know the answer to the question, but had a look at some references and here are some thoughts:
Afaict the colour chosen by a political party is not governed by legislation and can be changed whenever it wants. The Register of political parties on the AEC website does not mention colour.[1] There have been occasions when parties have used a different colour to the one associated with the. This source [2] says "There are strong historical conventions associating red with the labour movement or conservative parties with blue, but these have only come about through long repetition". The same source gives examples of parties using atypical colours in campaigns: "the white T-shirts with graphic type used in Kevin Rudd’s Kevin07 or Gough Whitlam’s It’s Time campaigns".
I had a look at the ALP wikipage. The colour associated with the ALP is red but no source is provided for this. In the case of the ALP, this is not contentious and there are many sources which state that red is the ALP's colour.
The Parliamentary Education Office [3] says "Colours are often associated with political parties" and then provides the colours each parliamentary party uses. It does not mention the AJP since it is not a parliamentary party at present.
I could not find mention of a designated colour on the AJP website. Its merchandise does favour black, charcoal and red colours.
Given the above, it appears that there is presently no colour associated with the AJP, and so I suggest removing the field from the info box. Burrobert (talk) 12:33, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've added that they are left-wing, because multiple articles suggest they are left-wing (i.e by saying the left (Labor, Greens, Animal Justice, Legalise Cannabis) controls the Victorian Upper House and half (excluding the President, who is a National) of the NSW Upper House).
