"Y does this site even have an epsode on ponds? I mean if a science class right now was doing a lab on ecosystems i mean they wouldnt find anything.. I mean rly this sux. Good luck kiddies at finding information on your forest pond ecosystems lab!"
Thanks JeffreyGomez. However, I reverted your edit while changing the article back to its 12th August version because the inappropriate statements deleted some of article's content, so I just want to note that your edit wasn't vandalism. Bláthnaid 23:22, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO MESS WITH WIKIPEDIA!!!!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.91.96.27 (talk) 15:27, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Shouldn't the main picture for this article be something like a coral reef, since showing a picture of a mostly above land ecosystem might give the wrong idea about the subject of the article...? Cornellbob (talk) 22:50, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have just modified one external link on Aquatic ecosystem. Please take a moment to review my edit. If you have any questions, or need the bot to ignore the links, or the page altogether, please visit this simple FaQ for additional information. I made the following changes:

I am wondering how other page watchers feel about this suggestion: I'd be inclined to replace some of the sections with excerpts, for example the ones on "marine ecosystem" and "freshwater ecosystem". This would reduce duplication of content and the need to maintain and update the same content on two different articles. I think for an overview article like this one, it could be useful to use the excerpt tool. Compare with the usage of excerpts for the article wastewater treatment which is also a high level overview article. EMsmile (talk) 01:39, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Update: I have now replaced all the sections that were about sub-articles with the excerpts from those sub-articles (I moved content from here to the sub-articles and then replaced that with excerpts). I have also added links to other articles, e.g. the section on "threats" overlaps with the threats listed at ecosystem, freshwater ecosystem, marine ecosystem; so it's important to point people to the relevant other articles about the threats... I would be inclined the remove the "further reading" list as none of those publications strike me as particularly relevant. Almost all of them are about marine ecosystems (a subset), and rather specific. Comments? EMsmile (talk) 02:17, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have now removed the further reading list as there were no objections in 2 months. This is what the list looked like:
