Untitled[edit]

Removed "...though there is a regionally significant population in the River Frome in South Gloucestershire and Bristol,"

This species is now believe to be extinct from the Frome, based on information given to the media by Avon Wildlife Trust in 2008. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Iccoto (talkcontribs) 18:38, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

History? Food?[edit]

As the only native species in UK, I would be interested in seeing the history and prehistory of this species. How much was it used in food in the UK? How far back do records go of this?
