The word bardo in the Buddhist literature means some thing in common with the Gnostic word barbelo!! If this is true Gnostic Christianity has come from a form of Buddhism! This word has been mentioned in the gospel of Judas!!Bold text
As has been pointed out, Bardo means "intermediate state." While the period of transition between lives is a bardo, it is far from the only state considered to be a bardo. Most of life is considered the bardo of existence. All states that are impermanent are considered to be a bardo and all states are impermanent.
i'll formulate a reference to one of my favourite bands, bardo pond, a psychedelic rock band from the US of A, who named themselves sort of after that philosophy (or rather philosophical term) in a short while
