A study by Mexican geographer Alma Rosa Bárcenas, published in the first isue of “Geografía”, published by INEGI in Mexico City in 1986, cleared up the confusion surrounding the exact site of the battle, and how it related to the map as originally drawn. It showed conclusively that the map is actually upside-down!
