Stop promote a Hungarian POV, Doncsecz & al.![edit]

(And, stop promote any nationalistic POV, of course.) This article is an example of something unwelcome but, unfortunately, common on Wiki: nationalistic-tinged edit war... Revert after revert... Why? Could you (I mean both Doncsecz and 88.100.172.183 alias Czech Anonym) take a respite and in place of never-ending skirmishes read genuine, independent and impartial sources carefully??? (E.g. fundamental study of Austrian historian Andreas Kusternig from 1978; both Czech and German historians conform with his conclusions – and I'm sure, you didn't read this piece though it is listed in References section...)

As for the images of the battle:

1.) is it colour image in infobox compulsory, Doncsecz? I don't think so!

2.) painting by Mór Than certainly isn't "above all tragic rather than glorious". Primarily, it depicts (in panegyric spirit) thanksgiving of Rudolph, German king to Ladislaus, King of Hungary for his decisive help to battle – a false conception of the medieval Hungarian chroniclers which is repeated by Hungarian historians from 19th century till our days. You are oblivious of one essential fact: the battle was, first of all, matter of Rudolph & Přemysl, not Ladislaus & Přemysl! Hungarians (more precisely: Cumans) just partially helped to the Germans/Imperial troops not vice versa!!! --Iaroslavvs (talk) 23:48, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

so this talk post is actually about 2 things. 1: is it Rudolf or Rudolph? on the Wiki page for Ottokar II and on Rudolf's Wikipedia page it is spelled with an F. However, this article spells it with a PH. 2: this article is listed as part of WikiProject Hungary. why? and why no WikiProject for Czechia or Austria? this battle is much more important for them than Hungary. as @Iaroslavvs said 15 years ago, this article isn't about Hungary. 76.156.6.163 (talk) 19:48, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hungarian forces highly participated in the battle (mosty 18 000 Hungarian forces with 2000 Austrians), it was deceisive. You can add Czechia and Austria project too. OrionNimrod (talk) 19:55, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Those numbers are absurd. "Decisive" was struggle of the Austrian-Styrian and Imperial knighthood, it was the main rival of Ottokar's army. The Hungarian-Cuman auxiliary corps played a secondary role, clearly. Writing an encyclopedia, it is necessary to start from professional (and preferably high-quality, peer-reviewed) literature, not from contemporary primary sources, which are often invented and exaggerated. I wouldn't call it decisive. per the article: "Nevertheless, as the main armies collided and the battle wore on, Ottokar's outnumbering cavalry seemed to gain the upper hand, when even Rudolph's horse was stabbed under him and the 60-year-old narrowly escaped with his life, rescued by his liensmen." 76.156.6.163 (talk) 18:02, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling with -ph- is proper for English while that with -f- is original German. Present Wiki standards, as far as I know, prefer original spelling in case of Latin alphabet writting (presumably, political corectness plays its role there). Neither form is miscorrect, I guess.
