I know this is a bit slewed towards the chemical industry, but it is a start. --Amortize 16:05, 6 Aug 2004 (UTC)

CJ BOLLAND

[edit]

Since when was he from Billingham. It says on his own Bio on his official website that he was born in Yorkshire and moved to Germany when he was three? --dj_paul84 19:32, 16 Aug 2006 (UTC)

He's not from Billingham. I've removed him from this list. Euryalus 23:05, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sean Gregan

[edit]

I've added a reference to Sean Gregan (a footballer) as a Billingham resident. His profile on Wikipedia says nothing of Billingham, but Sean was brought up from a young child on Low Grange Avenue where he lived with his family (in fact I always assumed he had been born there). I lived in the next street to him and his Uncle and my older brother were very very good friends. I'm sure that he attended St Joseph's primary school and then St Michael's Billingham. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.15.30.151 (talk) 02:31, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK...

[edit]

Tis rather good article.

I added a bit, about the football, but I'm not too good on adding links and stuff, but I know theres a Synners page somewhere, I edited it ages ago.

Dawson House Dawson house was built by the Stockton-on Tees Borough council, not the BUDC. It was named after Fred Dawson, the last clerk of the BUDC.195.92.40.49 13:22, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes - I remember Dawson house being built - must have been 1974!

== Improvements ==

I'm trying to improve this article, mainly because I live in Billingham. I'm drafting an article at User:DTR/Sandbox2, I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions on the relative talk page or my talk page --Dave the Rave (DTR)talk 21:02, 20 August 2007 (UTC). [reply]

The caption of the picture says "Billingham town centre today"... it surely isn't today is it. I know you should know what it means, but thats a silly thing to say. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.168.49.166 (talk) 19:46, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Duncan Bannatyne

[edit]

Duncan Bannatyne lives in Wynyard, Billingham. Is it worth mentioning? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.30.1.31 (talk) 05:44, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Road

[edit]

Do we really need such intricate detail about the A19 trunk road? Would it not suffice to say that the A19 York to Newcastle road bypasses Billingham and replaces an earlier bypass? Francis Hannaway 23:08, 4 November 2011 (UTC)

Eee, by 'eck, you'll never believe who was on at the Forum!

[edit]

We've got to be a bit more dispassionate about our beloved Billingham. Imagine the Japanese student who is asked to do a project on an English town; he'd think he'd stumbled on Hollywood if some of these statements are to believed. Let's tone down these so-called iconsofEast Enders ... whatever they are. Francis Hannaway (talk) 21:12, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on Billingham. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Lead photo? Maybe a small collage?

[edit]

I don't live in Billingham but have been there a few times before and seen more notable places around it and feel a new bunch of photos like on Stockton and Middlesbrough should be added to it. Give it some more variety as that one photo just doesn't seem to do that town justice enough? @Chocolateediter and @10mmsocket do you agree? DragonofBatley (talk) 20:22, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Like with Manchester and Newcastle, I feel some places worth adding to the collage include the town centre but also:
St Cuthbert's Church, Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge, Charlton's Pond, Seal Sands and RSPB Saltholmes among other places? DragonofBatley (talk) 20:26, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
