larrikin[edit]

Needs explanation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.144.214.127 (talk) 15:15, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Block Arcade or Block Arcade?[edit]

Isn't the official name The Block Arcade, instead of just Block Arcade? 121.220.222.63 (talk) 08:05, 17 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright and proper use of license[edit]

The bulk of this article was copied from hereinthis edit by Twchelsea12 (talk · contribs). The document is hosted on Scribd and its specific license is "Attribution Non-Commercial". I don't know the fine points of that, but at the very minimum, no attribution was given. Dawnseeker2000 23:19, 14 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because the copyright material has been added recently. Reverting to a previous version (as has already been done by another editor) should suffice to resolve the copyright concern. Kerry (talk) 05:59, 22 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Barcade Boys[edit]

The information provided isn't well-supported by the three sources. The first says "THE BLOCK ARCADE - Once known for a larrikin gang called the Barcade Boys". The second (a blog post) says『In its heyday, it was well known as a hangout for young larrikin gangs called the “barcade boys,” who dealt drugs all day and hired prostitutes at night.』The third source is about a historical fiction novel and it is NOT clear from this source what aspects of the novel are real amd what are fictional. I can find no references in the digitised newspapers in Trove to the "Barcade Boys" (which bothers me). There are some results from Google searches but again blogs and the sites that copy Wikipedia content. Does anyone have any more reliable sources? Kerry (talk) 05:46, 25 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted the Barcode Boys paragraph. There is no historical evidence for the existence of this gang, and the two people mentioned in the entry are both fictional characters from the novel, Runner, by Robert Newton. Jonathan O'Donnell (talk) 07:26, 13 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
