added the egyptian blockades of the straits of tiran since this is a well-known example- Moshe Constantine Hassan Al-Silverburg 05:02, 9 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

What about the 1971 Bangladesh War where India blockaded East Pakistan? Sniperz11 07:57, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fact check Gaza blockades

[edit]

Data given for blockades of Gaza, which are in the news nowadays, seem wrong and self-contradictory. Where are the references for this? Wasn't the blockade enacted in the first Intifadah stopped at some point. E.g. before the one in the second Intifadah was enacted? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.141.56.123 (talk) 13:04, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Willpower

[edit]

"Willpower"? I can't help but feel that the Nov 2005 additions to the article have rendered it less encyclopedic and more like someone's lecture on how to have a successful blockade. Is it just me? Savatar 04:50, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

i agree - in fact, i came to the discussion page to mention it. i don't think encyclopedic content should include howtos. 192.223.226.6 18:11, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blockade examples

[edit]

I am not sure if Turkey was involved in the blockade over Armenia in the example given on the last sentence of the section. I guess, that has to be checked. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.235.148.131 (talk) 19:45, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Original research debate

[edit]

The June 6 edit [1] by user UlfSamuelsson seems like a violation of WP:NOR, as the reference link [2] does not support the stated claims. 85.167.116.220 (talk) 20:26, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

1879 - Battle of Iquique during the War of the Pacific in May.

[edit]

It seems to me this does not qualify for a blockade Koakhtzvigad (talk) 09:28, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect

[edit]

Request that sea interdiction redirect to this page. 70.247.162.84 (talk) 23:31, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
