Untitled[edit]

I think some pieces, really the Golf piece, are written like an advertisement. Jakster holland 15:52, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Photo's Need replacing[edit]

Some of the pictures have been deleted for copyright reasons, can someone source some decent replacements to fill the gaps. Mobile 01Talk 14:48, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tire/tyre[edit]

There is inconsistent use of "tyre" and "tire" throughout the article. DH85868993 22:08, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have corrected this to the correct spelling of "TYRE". There are a few references to actual American subsidiaries such as Aircraft Tire PTY LTD, which are actual company names which I have left alone. All other references have been spelled the World spelling of TYRE rather than the American only way of TIRE. As this article is about the global company of Bridgestone then the spelling should reflect this. Firestone Tire and Rubber Company is the american division and has it's own article which uses the American spelling TIRE. Mobile 01Talk 02:29, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like someone at some time made a number, if not a global change of 'tyre' --> 'tire', including such that company names lost their capital T. Have switched back as in the May 2007 change.91.108.88.52 (talk) 00:14, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Formal tone[edit]

I added the inappropriate tone box at the top because of the golf section and other sections about tires. I will work to improve these sections, but ideas and help would be appreciated. 70.56.128.224 16:57, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removed. Not required. Mobile 01Talk 02:30, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

F1 results table[edit]

The table should take account of the fact that if Bridgestone is the only competitor then of course it is going to win the race. I would therefore suggest adding a footnote specifying how many of these races and championships were won when there was no competition. BeL1EveR 20:57, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Column added. The table at List_of_Formula_One_records#Tyres_records already had a similar column. DH85868993 01:39, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Bandag logo.png[edit]

Image:Bandag logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Bridgestone Ranking[edit]

How do we measure largest tire manufacturer in the world? If it's by revenue, I think it is a fair statement that Bridgestone is the largest: http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/global500/2007/snapshots/6432.html TNaran (talk) 17:49, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I notice Bridgestone is ranked second in Michelin page. This is confusing. Ignaciopurdue (talk) 12:17, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Bridgestone: Passion for Excellence" - "Bridgestone Wikipedia Article: No Passion for Grammar?"[edit]

I've just come to notice the pants grammar used in this article. In just one relatively short section of this article I found three grammatical errors which, while minor, make the overall article look like a shredded tyre (I couldn't resist a tyre pun). I'm going to look through the rest of the article for errors, and I'll correct them as I see fit. If anyone has extra time on their hands, consider spending some of it on improving this article. The largest tyre manufacturer in the world deserves as much, don't they? BrenMan 94 (talk) 17:35, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Consistency[edit]

There was a mix of "tyres" and "tires" in the article. I changed most of them to "tire" because that is the spelling on the Bridgestone Official English website (see the article's External links), which I should think takes precedence over the Europe-specific website. I left "tyre" in several places where it was a capitalized portion of a company name, in case that was the official name, and left in the Europe/UK-specific sections until I read some consensus.
