Brompton Cemetery is an important part of Victorian English heritage and therefore of London. Of the Magnificent Seven it is one of the better preserved cemeteries, although many of the monuments have been vandalised. Of these seven cemeteries it is also the closest to the centre of London. The fact that it is next to Chelsea´sStamford Bridge Stadium makes it an interesting landmark. It is place that deserves to be cherished and is well worth a visit. CfD Proposal to delete Burial by place category[edit]
It has been proposed here to delete the category that links people to their place of burial. Note that the proposer is recommending the removal of the whole tree of categories, not just the the top level categories listed. Ephebi (talk) 15:38, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Not this CfD debate again! I'm confident it won't pass. Edwardx (talk) 17:48, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Fellow Wikipedians, what do you think about translating the current over long list of 'notables and semi notables' into a separate article? There are several hundred White Russians and Poles alone. Other categories might be people linked to the theatre, writers, naval officers, famous wives etc. This necropolis is after all like a sizeable town! --Po Kadzieli (talk) 21:37, 3 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

In the article under Exhumations it says "There was a Brulé Sioux tribesman buried in Brompton named Paul Eagle Star. His plot was in the same section as Oglala Sioux warrior Surrounded By the Enemy who died in 1887 from a lung infection at age 22". It then went on to say that the location of Surrounded's grave was unknown. As Surrounded was buried next to Paul Eagle Star (see:[1]), whose remains were recently exhumed, then the location must be known. so I've removed that statement.
The list of notables at the cemetery is now very long. It would be more manageable broken down by profession and notability: there are at least seven VCs. What do people think?--Po Mieczu (talk) 22:07, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
