If one were to read this article from the beginning and only make it partway through, it would be quite misleading as to the CSA'S role and powers in Canada (especially given, for example, the early and unexplained analogy of the SEC). Even if you made it all the way though (to the "Harmonization" section, for example), it would still remain misleading, though it starts to touch on some of the actual issues (though mainly only by implication). Does anyone have the wherewithal (and citations appropriate) to clean up this article, making it a bit clearer and more objective? (Re: the issue of objectivity, for example, the article says that the CSA "ensures" certain things, when this should be framed as a goal, not necessarily implying that the CSA has achieved success re: its policy positions).
