No information on the economy or geography. Vogensen 11:11, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Deleted section on Nightlife, for gross violations of NPOV. And general silliness -- Cananea is quite a pleasant town. Pete Tillman 03:38, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with repeated posting of inappropriate content

[edit]

Unregistered user 148.235.96.162 continues to post and repost the following rant, at various places in the article;

"Thanks to the corruption and inefficiency of the current and past four municipal administrations, Cananea's most important industry is drug and people trafficking. In the past six years alone, the town was invaded by drug dealers and coyotes as Cananea is strategically located in the U.S. border with Arizona. These criminals were provided with immunity and protection by Mayor Francisco Garcia Gamez, his puppet succesor Mayor Luis Carlos Cha and his now deceased corrupt police chief, Police Chief Ramon Tacho Verdugo who was assasinated early in 2007 allegedly for his connections with organized crime. This of course spawned a wave of crimes and murders across the region, which were often overlooked by the municipal authorities. Francisco Garcia used the local media to disguise the criminal activities that were taking place here. Even to this day, one of the weekly newspapers that are published, Revista Semanal Proyeccion, worships the actions of Garcia and Luis Carlos Cha. This "newspaper" made and continues to make very significant profits from municipal administrators in exchange for good publicity."

Whatever the truth of his charges, they are in gross violation of NPOV and don't belong here. I've reverted his posts, and repeatedly requested he not post this inappropriate material. This problem has been ongoing since 12-06. Help?—Preceding unsigned comment added by Tillman (talkcontribs)

I am disappointed with the quality of grammar in this article. Is there an editor in the house? Also, the material about the mining strikes seems to be a violation of NPOV. I followed the links and couldn't get past the required registration form. In other words, the account seems to be unverifiable using the sources provided. Also, it seems rather inconsistent to show hatred toward the military people who perhaps exploited the commoners for gain through gold, but not express the same feelings against the religious people who did the same. I don't know the truth and so I can't edit, but I suspect a lack of objectivity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.172.153.122 (talk) 20:14, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
