Scope of Page: Writers-in-Residence[edit]

I live close to the Carl Sandburg NHS and enjoy visiting it often. Hence, I have added a few sentences to the Wikipedia page. I have no affiliation with it. In transparency, I am a fan of poetry. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Sandburg

Last week, I added a sentence about the recent writers who have been involved in the Writer-in-Residence program. I included citations to secondary and primary sources to document it was verifiable, mostly news articles.

Another editor feels that these writers are not part of the scope of this National Historic Site. This editor flagged the sentence as being non-verifiable although I included 1-2 citations to secondary sources for each writer.

In the cases of some National Historic Site, I could see this argument. But the Carl Sandburg home is the home of a writer and poet; therefore, a core part of its mission in partnership with the Friends of Connemara is to celebrate writing. In addition, many Wikipedia pages contain lists of names of writers or award recipients.

How do other editors feel about this topic? JeremyAGibbs (talk) 11:37, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
