So, I added a picture. It's not the best, but it will do for now. Could someone post a pic of the Iowa portion of the river? There is a dam near the MN-IA border that's fairly picturesque if I'm not mistaken. A pic near where it joins the Iowa River that might also be nice - -to show it at it's biggest.--Hraefen 21:20, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I propose that Cedar River (Iowa) be moved to Cedar River (Minnesota and Iowa) as it starts in Minnesota and enters the Mississippi in Iowa. PLease note any objections by August 14, 2006.--Hraefen Talk 18:49, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Shouldn't we have information about the damage done by the Great Flood of 1993. The Cedar River flooded some areas of Downtown Cedar Rapids (albeit not as much as it did in 2008). I knew about the flood of 1993 impacting Cedar Rapids ever since 2002. I didn't know much back then, and I know even less after June 2008. Anyways, shouldn't information about the Flood of 1993 be added here? Bramblestar (ShadowClan Leader) (talk) 21:33, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
1993 & 2008 are not the only floods. There was a major flood in the early 1960s which devastated Waterloo/Cedar Falls. I am quite sure that flood is what prompted building of dikes which largely protected Waterloo/Cedar Falls in recent floods.
Additionally portions of the Cedar experienced major flooding in 1999 caused by heavy rains upstream. Waverly was devastated (though not as badly as 2008). Bahrainkayaker (talk) 12:06, 27 March 2009 (UTC)BahrainKayaker[reply]
