I will review this article. Comments in a few days. Sasata (talk) 01:25, 27 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I just read through the article and thought it was quite well done. I have some minor comments and suggestions below. While these are being addressed, I'll check through my New in Chess back issues and see if there might be some more to add; I seem to recall an article about chess in Armenia, and they usually have pretty good Olympiad coverage, so there might be some extra tidbits in issues covering the years they won or placed 2nd. Sasata (talk) 04:20, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for the review. Yes, please, if you can find anything I'll be glad to add it to the article. --Երևանցի talk 05:24, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm pretty sure he was. You can take a look at Candidates Tournament article (from 1991 on) and see that Aronian was the only Armenian player to be there, but if this is an issue, I can remove it, no problem.
  • what section should I merge it with? "Independent Armenia"? or just leave it where it is and remove the section header?

I've had a look through my magazines, but unfortunately, couldn't find extra information that should be included. I was thinking that perhaps mention could be made of Asrian's death in 2008 right before the Olympiad, and how this event spurred his teammates to win another olympic title. This would fit in better in there were some explanatory text in the Chess Olympiads subsection ... something to think about if you are intending to develop this article further. Other things that might be worthy to have in the article are mention of any regular, recurring GM events played in the country. Is there a Tigran Petrosian memorial every year? The Asrian memorial is now in its sixth year. Does Armenia have a yearly open championship? If so, what's the average turnout? Is the Chess Academy of Armenia notable?

Overall, I think the article meets the GA criteria. All images have appropriate licenses. Spotchecking of several online sources revealed no problems with close paraphrasing or other issues. I'll be happy to promote once the unsourced statement is removed. Sasata (talk) 03:59, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the unsourced sentence. I will probably expand the article later, when I feel like editing it again :) Thank you for your review! --Երևանցի talk 01:42, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome! Promoting article now. Sasata (talk) 02:44, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I think I understand. (What I was thinking was that since "4"s are normally spelled, and "24" & "17" can go either way since two or less words, then spelling out all of them would be the best course.) It seems you're using the first occuring number, "24", as precedent for the rest of the sentence!? Ok, Ihardlythinkso (talk) 10:36, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
