Former good article nomineeChris Benoit was a good articles nominee, but did not meet the good article criteria at the time. There may be suggestions below for improving the article. Once these issues have been addressed, the article can be renominated. Editors may also seek a reassessment of the decision if they believe there was a mistake.

Super J Cup 1994

[edit]

The "In Wrestling" section of the article states "Sharpshooter – 1998–2007", but at the Super J Cup (1994) he applies the move to The Great Sasuke. That tournament was from 1994. Could we please change the date from 1998–2007 to 1994-2007? Also, he did win the actual cup with a Gutwrench Suplex from the top (third) rope. Could we add it to the finisher or signature section?

Alcohol

[edit]

This article seems to neglect that alcohol was also a contributing factor. Investigators found many empty alcohol containers, and I don’t see where Benoit’s blood alcohol level is mentioned. Xxjlionheart7241xx (talk) 15:42, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Xxjlionheart7241xx okay? 173.27.192.174 (talk) 21:37, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Swapping paragraphs 2 and 3

[edit]

Should the second paragraph of the article, which describes his nicknames and championships, be moved below the current third paragraph, which describes the double-murder suicide? In other words, should the paragraph which is currently #3 ("In a three-day double-murder...") swap places with the paragraph which is currently #2 ("Bearing the nicknames...")? Obviously the double-murder suicide is more important than his accolades, yet it's relegated below a list of championships he won. --TonySt (talk) 18:58, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I agree w/ your sentiment, but I think that the murder of his family, as well as his suicide, should be placed in the first sentence of this page. This is what he should be remembered for, not some phony titles awarded to him on a scripted television series. Even if he had actually earned those in combat, it still would have paled in comparison to what he did to his family. My belief is that the first sentence of this article should read, "Chris Benoit was a Canadian professional wrestler, who murdered his wife and seven-year-old son before committing suicide." Anything other than this, and it makes the article disingenuous and dishonest. Jmg999 (talk) 11:18, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, but it seems like the consensus disagrees. I'm going to make the change I described earlier (swapping the order of the 2nd and 3rd paragraph), and if that proves to be controversial it might be worth another RfC to see if we can find consensus on swapping the order. --TonySt (talk) 15:16, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I honestly don't agree with this entire page. However, Chris Benoit went by many wrestling names which are not on the right side of the page.

Crippler Rabid Wolverine to name a few

They are mentioned in the article but not on the right side where it says: "ring names" 100.38.152.160 (talk) 09:54, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

 Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. '''[[User:CanonNi]]''' (talk|contribs) 10:00, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No proof.

[edit]

this will probably not get answered but there were no cameras nor DNA test done to prove he actually did it I believe it should be alleged murder-sucide .and also conspiracy theories should be here for example Marilyn Monroe death was ruled suicide but there are still conspiracy theories about if she was murdered on her Wikipedia article. and lastly it should be here that someone edited this page and claimed Benoit wife died before they were found dead. 102.91.93.111 (talk) 05:01, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
