Origin of change

"This change is believed to result from the legalisation of Sunday trading in England and Wales in 1994."

This is unsourced and dubious. My recollection is that the previous year saw 26th December fall on a Sunday for the first time in eleven years and usage was divided - notably the Radio Times and TV Times were in disagreement. I think the tradition of football matches on the 26th was already established. Timrollpickering 11:23, 24 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
