Apple Lossless Encoding[edit]

Shouldn't [Apple Lossless Encoding] be under lossless, or am I missing something? 11889 13:56, Jun 24, 2004 (UTC)

Misleading Information[edit]

On the first Paragraph, "Compressor-Decompressor" or "Coder-Decoder" is basically not really the same thing, which need to be explained separately.

On second paragraph, It tells about Video/Audio Codec, which will be more appropiate to be on "Video Codec" or "Audio Codec" Article

The Third paragraph, I believe CoDec is not only about Encoding or Decoding.

The 4th is similar as the second.

^^ agreed --Elin

Fake codecs[edit]

Fake Codecs are something that is currently in route to be added/discussed.

merge endec into codec[edit]

I suggest that the "endec" article should be merged with the "codec" article, since the current version of the endec leaves me confused about the distinction (if any) between an "endec" and a "codec". Even if there is some subtle distinction, perhaps they are similar enough that a single article describing both of them (and also the subtle distinction between them) would be better than 2 separate articles -- similar to the way one article covers both Myanmar and Burma. --68.0.124.33 (talk) 14:50, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Malware section importance[edit]

98.29.45.120 has marked Codec § Malware with {{Importance section}}. Fake codec redirects to this section and has 3 incoming links from other articles. There is only one reference currently cited here but a quick Google search indicates the topic is likely notable. Maybe this is not the best place for the material but it does not appear to merit deletion. Anyone who advocates deleting it should first try to suggest a new location. ~Kvng (talk) 16:22, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Kvng: Your logic is sound and I won't dispute it. You're right. Chess (talk) (please use {{reply to|Chess}} on reply) 14:51, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
