2[edit]

Translator note #2 _ the article keeps saying the “coasts” of the Paraná, which is just wrong. The word “coast” implies an ocean or a sea or a lake, maybe even, if It’s a big one. A body of water, but not a waterway, where the equivalent word is “bank”. Granted that it’s a big river, it still would not be a coast, everever, at least not in the version of English that I speak. I suspect a word with the same root as “bord”

But it’s still not Right, because in English to say that somebody is on the river bank, implies that somebody else is not on the riverbank. Or why are we talking about terrain? The intended meaning however is that the army is advancing up the river valley so this is the way I am editing it.

Just noting a disagreement with whatever or whoever did this translation. A fairly subtle difference that does require a complete rewrite of that sentence Elinruby (talk) 12:14, 10 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

1[edit]

There are a couple of casual references to “the orientals”. I believer that in this context it possibly should be translated as “easterner seems”. The Spanish version does use this cognate. Requires research. Elinruby (talk) 04:13, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
