I've placed ([1]) an excerpt of Architecture of Egypt in order to have an architecture section in this article, given that this is a reasonably important topic. The full architecture article is well-sourced, but this is just a copy of the lead which summarizes that content, so the relevant citations are in the linked article. This can be merely provisional. A separate summary section here could be preferable in the long term (see Template:Excerpt#Advantages and disadvantages), but I figured an excerpt would be useful to readers in the meantime at least. @R Prazeres Sincerest apologies! I was not aware of such a term and I assure it shall not happen again. I was simply trying to fix the spelling errors after I added the citations, but the page kept lagging and removing all my work; I did not intend to insinuate a disagreement. However, I'd like to mention that the new information I added to the article is well sourced, accurate, and also taken from first-hand experience with the topic (Culture of Egypt) and would like to know what exactly is wrong about the information I added so that I may fix it and educate readers about this topic well. Hi Humanity'sHistorian, thank you for responding here. Here are my general recommendations for how to proceed. I think these are also good practices for any new editor in most articles:
If you would like to add material, please do not make other kinds of changes to the rest of the article at the same time. It makes it difficult to review your edit and impractical to fix problems without reverting. So please limit yourself to additions for now, without changing or removing other material.
Please of course make sure that all additions are directly based on reliable sources, as you've mentioned. Do not base your edits simply on personal or first-hand experience, as Wikipedia does not allow original research. First-hand experience can still help you decide what is relevant information, but all content still needs to be verifiable by others.
If there is material that you think should be removed, I recommend noting it on the talk page here. It's also better if any deletions are made in separate edits (with an edit summary briefly explaining the reasons), so that they can be reverted if necessary without affecting any other constructive changes. Note that if the material is accompanied by supporting citations, you will need a particularly good and clear reason to change or remove it, otherwise you will usually be reverted.
Your edits included many random typos and grammatical errors, even in places where the grammar could have indeed been otherwise improved. If you are not an experienced copy-editor/writer in English, my recommendation is that you avoid doing this particular kind of work yourself. Instead, we can leave a maintenance template that will encourage other experienced editors to read through the article and fix writing mistakes.
(It's also good, once again, to make any superficial changes like grammar and spelling in a separate edit, rather than alongside major content changes.)
I hope that helps. Other editors are also free to further discuss this or object to any changes, but I think it would be ok if you edit in line these recommendations.
