According to the England & Wales Birth Index, the only "Donald Edwards" registered around those parts in the 2nd quarter of 1933 was in Bolton. However, if his name was "Ronald Edwards" as I've just read in a review of his autobiography "Sing Lofty: Thoughts of a Gemini", then he was registered in Manchester North (mother's maiden name Gordon) which to me would indicate Crumpsall. Perhaps his name should be changed to reflect this. 07:22, 10 October 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kmitch87 (talk • contribs)
What is this to do with anything? Can we drop it? Safebreaker (talk) 07:28, 28 September 2011 (UTC) The article has English as nationality. No such thing. It's British. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C8:3B02:4E01:19E3:D562:D889:CFD0 (talk) 22:28, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The prose added in this 2011 change needs deleting; it may have been acceptable way back then, but appears to be commentary from the man being (self)quoted. I've tagged it as {{where}} [was it said] and {{citation needed}}.--86.29.222.228 (talk) 21:52, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
