ESPN

[edit]

{{request edit}}

* Specific text to be added or removed: ADD TEXT HERE Hello from ESPN's PR department. My name is Dave Nagle. I would be glad to work with someone on updating/fixing our entry. I've only looked at the first 5-paragraph section. The first paragraph -- which people see on the right side when they google ESPN -- is the most problematic and has come to the attention of many people here, including top executives. It is horribly outdated. Needs to be much longer, too. There's little things to fix in the next 4 paragraphs. And I haven't looked at the very long sections that follow. I have been in the PR department here for almost 36 years and know the company very well.

* Reason for the change: ADD TEXT HERE Information is very, very outdated.

* References supporting change: ADD URL AT LEAST Here is our company fact sheet: https://espnpressroom.com/us/espn-inc-fact-sheet/ You can reach me at dave.nagle@espn.com Thank you very much. 192.234.2.90 (talk) 19:24, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Could you provide the specific things that are wrong and need to be updated? The fact sheet alone doesn't help point out what areas are incorrect. We also can't just make it longer for the sake of making it longer. We need specific details that are lede-worthy and supported by secondary sources. Please note that this article is about the channel and not ESPN brand in general. — Starforce13 19:57, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. I'm afraid I'm only now seeing your two responses on Oct. 4. Do you see that I added a suggested update on Oct 13? But, you say this entry is about the network, not the company. Is there a separate entry for the company? Thanks. 192.234.2.90 (talk) 21:36, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The article for the company is ESPN Inc. It covers pretty much all the notable details you included, in one way or another, but obviously not everything needs to go to the opening paragraph. — Starforce13 21:49, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Starforce13- Hi. Did you see my suggested lede from Oct 13? But, you say this entry is specific to ESPN the TV network, not the company. Is there any entry for the company? Thanks. 192.234.2.90 (talk) 20:50, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ESPN 8: The Ocho

[edit]

I've proposed that ESPN 8: The Ocho be split off from the film article Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, as it is a real TV programming segment on the real ESPN, and not just something in a fiction film. You may be interested in the discussion. For the discussion , see talk:Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story#Split off ESPN 8 -- 67.70.25.80 (talk) 23:10, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Chris Berman's HOF speech

[edit]

ESPN please be advised that CB HOF speech was not appropriate in reference to Thomas ("doubting thomas") of The Gospel of John chapter 20. The Scripture passage, the Bible, has nothing for CB HOF speech. Absolutely nothing, but Mr. Chris can repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of all sins by trusting in Christ alone for the salvation of his soul and of everyone who believes in Christ. John 20:30-31 is why this Gospel of John was written. 40.131.177.136 (talk) 21:41, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
