Why?

[edit]

The article doesn't say why people want to impeach him. --Doradus (talk) 18:48, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I do not think those people- mainly the kleptocracy, have made it clear themselves, but intend to do so in Parliament on 12 August 2008. Previous proceedings against him were under the constitution precluding the President from holding "an office of profit" from the government - i.e. COAS (Chief of Army Staff).--Streona (talk) 03:34, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Apprently its "gross misconduct", which is somewhat non-specific.--Streona (talk) 17:02, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's corruption allegations now. Zardari has been missing 700M a year. The money is supposed to have been coming from the war on "sth" in the north.I guess it will explain their future failure in the area. Also basically the two current throne pretenders have both alredi had governmental and i think president post, they have locked another up and have been locked up by musharraf, it plays a role from the moment zardari and sharif assumed some power. Personally i am not as optimistic about a pakistan without musharaf, its more messy and less succesfull already (perhaps worth a place in the article the economy and social/industrial development went surprisingly well under musharaf.)Strange that there is so little mention of human rights, the problem with that i think is that Mush may have trodden some humans rights, but not on the scale that his predeccessors did, personally i regard this destabilisation as a result of a failed "bhuttoisation", wich is telling about the naive state of mind of the average pakistani (simple means and open media acces meant the pakistani could easily be turned to make a choice that when things didnt go as planned (bhutto died)turned somewhat sour.)Then again who likes military leaders, not even musharaf himself (might be he just leaves (for) now).77.251.34.32 (talk) 20:45, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Zardari and Sharif accusing Musharaff of corruption ? Pots accuse kettle of being black! --Streona (talk) 02:41, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

International Reaction?

[edit]

I think not, one useless quote from America. I can summerize the quote in two words, "No comment". Please dont write anything under a new section unless it has some value. The americans essentially said nothing and I dont think it is worth its own section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.111.239.110 (talk) 01:14, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was about to say the exact same thing. When I get the spare time (currently doing some Geog. coursework), I'll scoure the internet for more quotes. It will be interesting to see what India and other Asian powers will have to say on this topic. BBC should be a good resource to find more quotes from the international community.
