Wiki Education Foundation-supported course assignment[edit]

This article was the subject of a Wiki Education Foundation-supported course assignment, between 4 February 2019 and 3 May 2019. Further details are available on the course page. Student editor(s): Favoured01.

Proposed deletion[edit]

I object to deletion for the following reasons (among others): 1) I expanded this article (as was recommended on the page). 2) Before I started editing there were almost no sources cited at all. Now there are sixteen sources. 3) I will gladly delete the portions of the article that are in essay format. I purposefully left them there (specifically the Black Sabbath paragraph) to respect the work of previous contributors. If it is in the best interest to have these paragraphs removed then I will do so. 4) This topic is definitely worth sharing and belongs on its own. If it is merged with another page (such as 'environmentalism') then the significance would be diminished. 5) I find it hard to not be offended by the claim that the page "Provides no value other than being an ode to environmentalism with a smattering of singers/groups." As I mentioned earlier, the paragraphs that could be construed as personal opinions were written by previous editors. I can rework or remove them if necessary.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to keep the page up! I put a lot of work into expanding it from a stub and did my best to make changes while honoring the work of previous editors. Thanks, RobinRhodes (talk) 05:30, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with removing the "Proposed deletion" tag. This is an encyclopedic topic covered quite widely in scholarly publications, even if up to now, it has been poorly developed in this article. I have added just three of the many available publications to the Further reading section, which can be used to expand and improve the article. The bibliography of an unpublished paper, "Environmental Activism in Music", by Richard Kahn, a faculty member at Antioch University Los Angeles also has some good leads to other relevant publications. The article needs considerable improvement and you shouldn't be shy of editing and re-writing ruthlessly where required. Voceditenore (talk) 10:45, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

External links modified[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Environmentalism in music. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

This message was posted before February 2018. After February 2018, "External links modified" talk page sections are no longer generated or monitored by InternetArchiveBot. No special action is required regarding these talk page notices, other than regular verification using the archive tool instructions below. Editors have permission to delete these "External links modified" talk page sections if they want to de-clutter talk pages, but see the RfC before doing mass systematic removals. This message is updated dynamically through the template {{source check}} (last update: 5 June 2024).
