I came here hoping to learn something about the unusual time signature in the song. I'm not an expert, but the verses go 8 beats, 8 beats, 4, 4, 4; I'm sorry I can't describe it better than that, but that's what I came here to learn. If anyone is feeling adventurous and has better ears than I do, the vocal track has been uploaded onto the internet. The story(ies?) recited during the break are about 50% comprehensible. Since it is the studio track, reverb and delay have been added to the track. - On second thought, I think maybe the stories are being told at different parts in the song. The first story starts at around 1:28 after the first verse, but there is guitar on the audio track. I think the video part of the article should be expanded, as it tells a sort of story.
This article states that Jennifer Youngblood was the muse for the song, but the Louise Post article says Louise was the muse. There are no sources for either statement - can this be clarified somehow? Banality 16:54, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I really don't think there is a drug reference in the song, like you said at the bottom. No offense, but it really seemed like you were stretching it with that connection.

In the "Production" section, a very detailed description claims "Grohl wanted Post to provide vocals, but as she was in Chicago at the time, her parts ("doo doo doo"s alongside the lead guitar riff and harmonizing on the chorus) were achieved through 2 different telephone lines in the studio calling her: one connected as her monitor, the other for recording". But down in Personnel, it says "Louise Post is rumored to provide backing vocals on the track.". Which is it? Is the claim of her literally "phoning it in" accurate, in which case she should be in Personnel and marked as uncredited, or is it only a rumor, in which case the Production section should make the uncertainty clear? These two sections imply different levels of confidence.
