Umlaut template

[edit]

Why do we have a revert war on this? On the premise that it's better to include more information than less, I'm reverting to the version where it's included, but if someone can explain why it should be otherwise, I'll gladly change my mind. --Leifern 11:23, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It's to prominent. If one reads lots of ü-articles it is annoying. Everybody can copy paste the ü in the adress bar and see what an ü is and how it is treated. The premise is NOT to provide less important info in the first line. Tobias Conradi (Talk) 16:19, 19 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The U Umlaut is pronounced (and spelled) with an "Ue" sound. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.127.88.122 (talk) 23:08, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Minor grammatical changes as requested via the portal. The article is already in pretty good shape. Kudos. >>> --Scriptor Rex 19:02, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jews in Fürth

[edit]

The article about Fürth says „By 1840, there were 2535 Jews living in Fürth, more than half of all Bavarian Jews“. The first part of the statement is correct whereas the second part is completely wrong. In 1818, there were 42.738 Jews in Bavaria and in 1867 36.798. The number of Jews in Fürth was always much less than 10%. In 1818, 81.3% of the Bavarian Jews lived in Franconia, only 3.5% in Upper Bavaria, Lower Bavaria and Oberpfalz. The remaining 15.2% in Swabia. So there were almost no Jews in what was traditionally Bavaria. Anyway, the sentence should be corrected in a way to point out that Fürth was by far the most numerous Jewish community in Bavaria. TXDegnaisch (talk) 13:59, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
