This article says F stood for the w sound in Etruscan, but elsewhere in Wikipedia it says F stood for the v sound. Which is right?? Georgia guy 00:21, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Etruscan F is transcribed as Latin V, which was a similar if not the same sound. However, Latin V wasn't pronounced [v], but [w]. Greek F was also pronounced [w], and Etruscan had no other voiced fricatives, so it's a good bet that Etruscan F was pronounced [w] too. kwami 08:04, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In Britain children are taught to write the lower-case f with a below-line descender, rather like g or y. I came to Wikipedia to find out why this is, but it doesn't appear to be mentioned. Shouldn't the chemical symbol for Fluorine, which is F, also be included in this article? Doesn't this article effectively serve as a disambiguation article? Although, there's a separate article for fluorine, shouldn't it be included here with a forwarding reference to the separate article for further review?
