Because it was a lot A LOT of gold that the colombians had. They want to emphasize this.

Does anyone know where to find Miranda's letter to Woronsoff? This quote is all over the internet but there is no official source. I haven't been able to find it in published books of Miranda's letters. Any help would be much appreciated.

There is mention in the article about Miranda seeing a painting of Christopher Colombus unfurling a banner with these colours. The coat of arms of the Colòn family is red/yellow/blue. Given that Gran Colombia was named after him, is it a stretch that the flag is derived from his family arms? Torchist (talk) 13:19, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
