Not Vandals[edit]

We are not vandals. We are editing this page for a school project. Some of the odd things that was on this site were merely placeholders that we never meant to leave there. We are NOT VANDALS. And we intend to get rid of the placeholders and fill them in with serious responses within the hour. That is, we would if you would let us. Thank you.

This note should have been signed by the editor with 4 ~ in a row, which would have automatically included the data and time of the edit, and the name or IP address of the editor. As it stands, the note is addressed to someone, who should have been identified. ww 07:17, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Citation Needed[edit]

Charles J. Mendelsohn commented:

He was, in my opinion, the outstanding cryptographer of the Renaissance. Some unknown who worked in a hidden room behind closed doors may possibly have surpassed him in general grasp of the subject, but among those whose work can be studied he towers like a giant.

Could some one provide a citation for this quote ? its been deleted twice. I'll repost if its cited J8079s (talk) 03:50, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cipher[edit]

Porta's Cipher is definitely one of my favorite coding techniques. the fact that it requires that MASSIVE 26x26 matrix is a bit of a bummer though. Porta was really the best cryptographer of the renaissance.n — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.185.88.30 (talk) 04:42, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
