I have some concern over the following sentence: "Haiti was also a prime gay sex tourism destination for Americans during this period." If the article is going to contain such a statement I think we ought to evaluate A) It's value to the article and B) It's validity, as verified by a source outside of Dr. Jacques Pépin. Proposed edits to update this page

[edit]

Hi everyone! This article, while an important topic regarding the development of HIV/AIDs in North America, is currently a stub and I would like to add sections to it that deal with topics such as "the Haitian Connection" controversy, history of HIV/AIDS in Haiti, prevalence of the virus, preventative efforts, effect of the 2010 earthquake on the HIV program. I would also like to, in the process, add more links and update the information in the article as a whole.

Some sources I will be using include:

History of AIDS in Haiti, Prevalence, Prevention Efforts, Earthquake https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3011860/

"Haitian Connection" https://www.avert.org/professionals/history-hiv-aids/origin

Haiti HIV Data http://www.unaids.org/en/regionscountries/countries/haiti

Risk Groups http://pdf.usaid.gov/pdf_docs/Pnadr360.pdf

Let me know if you have any suggestions or comments!JJJ156 (talk) 04:35, 24 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
