Floyd-Rimmer Trial[edit]

Do anyone have any data about how the trial ended up going? Presumably if we can find a source for what happened, it would make sense to add it in. JoshuaZ 00:21, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I did a little digging. But I did not dig deep enough yet to know the details. My understanding is that he offered the 100 dollars to someone who could prove his challenge, so a prominent atheist answered teh challenge and Rimmer would not pay up. So it went to court. And his lawyer wrote a book. But I do not know who won or lost. It might be interesting to find te lawyer's book, or do more searching on the name of the trial: Floyd Rimmer? I would also look at all the Ronald L. Numbers articles I could find; there are several of them on the Web. I have some links if you cannot find them. There are a lot more than I have listed in this article.--Filll 00:26, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There are two books on the trial. One written by Rimmer called " That lawsuit against the bible" and one written by his lawyer called " The bible defeats atheism" Rimmer won and the judge rebuked the plaintiff for wasting the courts time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.23.181.175 (talk) 06:55, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Other Sources[edit]

Might also be worthwhile to include, at the very least as a source, a biography written by his son, Charles Brandon Rimmer. -- Paul Rimmer

If you're talking about In the Fullness of Time, it appears to be a novel based upon Harry Rimmer's life, not a true biography. The Antievolution Pamphlets of Harry Rimmer states that the "only complete scholarly biography" of him was "an unpublished doctoral dissertation by Roger Daniel Schultz".
