State owned, size of stake

[edit]

There is conflicting information in the article as to whether the Chinese state owns part of Hikvision, or if it used to owned part of the company. If the Chinese state owns part of the company it would be good to include the percentage if that information is available.Jonpatterns (talk) 08:09, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It just removed by some new Wikipedian or someone associated with Hikvision. Moreover it is a bit odd to state the government own how much stake. Seem it is more appropriate to state the stake held by the mega state-owned conglomerate. Matthew_hk tc 09:05, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Adding information about any and all owners improves the article, including government, mega state-owned conglomerates and others.Jonpatterns (talk) 12:41, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Needed updates

[edit]

Hi, Jason from Hikvision here.

I’d like to address some updates needed for this article and get some advice on how to help make that happen.

• First and foremost, our 2017 Annual Report (2016 results) with updated financials can be found here: http://www.cninfo.com.cn/finalpage/2017-04-22/1203358317.PDF and here http://www.securitysales.com/news/hikvision_posts_revenue_growth_for_2016/

IHS Markit, a global research organization, annually estimates video surveillance market share. More info here www.technology.ihs.com/582394/video-surveillance-market-share-database-2017 (subscribers only)

• The “Activities” section includes some Hikvision product categories, but there are more – UAVs, robotics, AI and Deep Learning applications, networked and cloud storage products and services, automobile electronics, manufacturing equipment, intelligence solutions, access control and alarm products, and others. Below are some news stories about Hikvision’s product lines:

- Hikvision highlights deeper video camera intelligence, drones, security industry opportunities, new product innovation, and overall technology expansion – from Security Sales & Integration, Nov. 2016 http://www.securitysales.com/news/hikvision_highlights_deeper_video_camera_intelligence_drones_more/#

- Hikvision CEO provides insight into Hikvision identity and operations – from Security Systems News, Nov. 2016 http://www.securitysystemsnews.com/article/hikvision-ceo-provides-view-top

- Hikvision is “supporting our move to the enterprise market with sophisticated products, a dealer program… and how we’re providing real leadership in the industry on issues like cybersecurity,” – from SecurityInfoWatch, Sept., 2016 http://www.securityinfowatch.com/press_release/12256687/hikvision-strengthens-presence-in-enterprise-market

- Hikvision plans to establish an R&D center in Montreal, Canada– from SP&T Magazine, March 2017 https://www.sptnews.ca/qa/qa-with-jeffrey-he-president-hikvision-usa-and-hikvision-canada

• The article now states that Hikvision “overtook” Dahua in market share, however, data shows that we have always been ahead of Dahua Technologies in terms of market share. Here is a Security System News July 2017 story about market share www.securitysystemsnews.com/article/hikvision-stays-top-2016-global-market-share

Who can I work with on updating this entry? Thanks -- Skywood76 (talk) 18:11, 20 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, my name is Mike with Hikvision. I noticed that citation #27 on our page – “Jeffrey He, president of Hikvision North America, had criticized the online blogger site for allegedly seeking financial gain” – and citations #11 and #12 – “Hikvision has been listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange since 2010. The company provides surveillance products to the global market via more than 2,400 partners in 155 countries and regions and has its presence in 18 locations around the world” – are dead links. Due to my conflict of interest, can other users help review and remove these passages from the page? Thank you!

I repaired the securitysales link and deleted the other two. MrOllie (talk) 18:48, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request for updated company information

[edit]

Hi, my name is Mike with Hikvision.

There is a request to update information in the “Overview” section of our page.

Citation #2 is linked to our 2021 Quarter 1 Financial Report and it should be used to replace outdated information on the page.

The intro – “Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co., Ltd., often shortened to Hikvision, is a Chinese state-owned manufacturer and supplier of video surveillance equipment for civilian and military purposes, headquartered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. Its controlling shares are owned by the Chinese government” – should be updated – “Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co., Ltd., often shortened to Hikvision, is a manufacturer and supplier of video surveillance equipment for civilian and military purposes, headquartered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. The company is 42% owned by Chinese state investors.”

Additionally, the ownership information – “As of 31 December 2017 Hikvision was owned by China Electronics Technology HIK Group Co., Ltd. (HIK Group, 中电海康集团有限公司), a wholly owned subsidiary of China Electronics Technology Group, which has a 39.59% stake. China Electronics Technology Group is a state-run enterprise that is owned and supervised by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.” – should be updated “As of 17 April 2021, Hikvsion’s largest shareholder is China Electronics Technology HIK Group Co., Ltd. (HIK Group, 中电海康集团有限公司), which owns a 38.88% stake. HIK Group is a subsidiary of China Electronics Technology Group, which is owned and supervised by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.”

Due to my conflict of interest, can other users help review and update these passages on the page? Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:4031:4D10:6539:39F0:F01A:6CCA (talk) 18:10, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest request - updated company information

[edit]

Hi, my name is Mike with Hikvision. There is a request to update company information in the on our page. Citation #2 is linked to our 2021 Quarter 1 Financial Report and it should be used to replace outdated information on the page. All of the information can be found on the 5th page of the financial report. Due to my conflict of interest, can other users help review and update these passages? Please let me know if you have any questions or if you need clarification

Mikesdsu (talk) 20:27, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: Please establish a consensus with editors engaged in the subject area before using the {{Request edit}} template for this proposed change. Also, I suggest you present each one of the proposed edits separately to be mindful of the amount of work it may take. Probably many editors don't engage with such long requests because precisely of the length or complexity. Thinker78 (talk) 23:22, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
