I can't understand why the above title change didn't go through. A holocaust is a bigger, series of massacres. I understand why this is more than a massacre, as buildings were razed. It is the destruction of a village or group of villages. It must have felt like one at the time, but it is not a holocaust, it is an example of scorched earth militarism, civilian massacre, and reprisal. What they certainly are is war crimes.
