I believe that discussion of growth of hyphae is important, so I'm going to try to add it. Lotusduck 18:49, 13 November 2005 (UTC)lotusduck[reply]

I cannot imagine how the growth of hyphae should work. Is there somebody that might express this more simply? --80.109.81.30 18:56, 6 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't copy and paste articles to wikipedia unless they are freely licensed. This one was not as far as I could tell. If you have permission to release the article under GFDL from the copyright holder or are the copyright author releasing the article under GFDL please correct me. Discordance 12:31, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What nonsense is this?

[edit]

What ON EARTH is that comment about "Hyphaes are lil' silver root-like stuff that makes mushrooms not die" doing here!? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 212.96.222.122 (talk) 14:11, 30 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

The vandalism has been reverted. -Adrian J. Hunter 14:01, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removed Hyphae.jpg

[edit]
Hyphae as seen under a log

I removed the pic on the right because I fear it could be misleading. The picture shows macroscopic structures which readers might assume to be individual hyphae; of course hyphae themselves are microscopic. This pic might be better on a page like mycelium. –Adrian J. Hunter 13:34, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Contradiction

[edit]

The following tag was added relating to E. J. H. Corner's terms.

But I think the references made it pretty clear that he introduced the terms monomitic, dimitic & trimitic in 1933, and later in a 1966 paper added terms like sarcodimitic, sarcotrimitic etc. I added the phrase "as a later refinement" to make this even clearer. Is this OK? Strobilomyces (talk) 20:11, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Strobilomyces. I added the contradict tag over a year ago when I couldn't access the sources, though looking at this article again I realise the intended meaning was discernable without them. It's clearer now. Adrian J. Hunter(talkcontribs) 03:09, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the hint about Template:Nospam. Strobilomyces (talk) 19:36, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hyphopodia

[edit]

I think something should be said about this type of hyphal branch as it's used thoroughly in literature - I have no real background in mycology so anyone who does and knows about this should address it. Lenny (talk) 06:55, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
