"The song leaked in 2010"[edit]

What does "The song leaked in 2010" mean? Moriori (talk) 01:29, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • It means that the song was uploaded online without the creator's permission. This is a common phrase used with music (and creative properties in general such as films). A link was added to make this point clearer. Aoba47 (talk) 02:19, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Interesting. I thought that something leaked to the internet (say), was done so by someone other than the creator. No matter. Anyway, shouldn't it say "The song was leaked in 2010", same as your explanation above that "the song was uploaded online"? Moriori (talk) 02:43, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Revised. I meant to say "without" (I cannot type today) so your initial thoughts were correct. Aoba47 (talk) 02:44, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to add a section to the Song infobox.[edit]

I would like to add the section that says then it was recorded, I would put "2010 & 2018". An example is here in my sandbox. ReadRead0109802 (talk) 17:34, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This information should only be added if there are reliable sources to back it up. I have not found any coverage to support either year. The song was leaked in 2010, but that is not sufficient evidence to support that it was recorded in that year, and while Hilton said she re-recorded parts of the song, that alone is not clear enough evidence to support a 2018 recording date as she does not say explicitly this was done in 2018. This could have been done the year prior in 2017. So, unless you find reliable sources that clearly supports either of those two dates, neither should be added to the article. Aoba47 (talk) 18:04, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thank you for responding. ReadRead0109802 (talk) 18:57, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Anytime. I hope my response was helpful. As much as I would love to include the recording dates, I do not believe this information is known (and I have not found any sources that cover this and I believe that I have exhausted the resources about this particular song). Thank you anyway though, and I do appreciate your time. Aoba47 (talk) 21:42, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
