As the encyclopedia is intended for a general audience, a more general description of the ITRS and ITRF would be useful. A description of the x,y,z Cartesian coordinates of points on the Earth's surface and the methods of conversion of these coordinates to conventional latitude and longitude would add great clarity. Perhaps an image of the Earth's globe should be included.
Granted, the IERS webpage is not clear about this but the IERS products are not intended for a general audience.
Oops, 2014 was included further down. It was the sentence "The difference between the latest WGS 84 and the latest ITRF (as of 2006) is only a few centimeters." that triggered my comment. More information on the relation between WGS84 and ITRF would be desirable!150.227.15.253 (talk) 09:30, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
