Comment[edit]

Thanks for corrections (right order, I had only the years). Link to Head On is not correct. It leads to a disambiguation page. Head on (Computergame) is empty. I made an artikle on german WP. Aren't the links UniWar S / Gingateikoko No Gyakushu not quite long? I think the link to Super Kung Fu Master should lead to Kung Fu Master. There is an explanation. Nothing more would be known.--80.226.231.136 09:00, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Holy Diver[edit]

I think Holy Diver is a NES Game and not an arcade game. Therefore M-78 is wrong. I haven't found anything on the web. What is your source? --80.226.206.153 23:14, 28 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see Irem's "Metal Storm" game for the NES mentioned here. Is it here under a different name? Or should it be added? When was it, 1991? I loved Metalstorm. :) --singe@ix.netcom.com 4:40am 10 April 2006 (PST)

Exclusivity[edit]

If I'm not mistaken, Irem will also support Wii's Virtual Console feature from Nintendo, so what makes them an "exclusively" Playstation developer?

I agree. This exclusivity is misleading, considering Irem release R-Type and R-Type III on the Virtual Console.
Those games were already developed, they're just being ported/republished. JohnnyMrNinja 00:34, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree. Even if they are being ported/republished, they'd still need the rights from the developers. There's nowhere in their website that indicates Irem exclusively releases games on the Sony platform. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.77.232.145 (talk) 21:22, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mail bombs?[edit]

For the longest time, I heard rumors that Irem received mail bombs in response to turning a Ranma 1/2 game into "Street Combat". IS there any truth to this? The only source I can find is http://underworld.fortunecity.com/virtua/513/3-30-99.htm Coolgamer (talk) 07:38, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Irem to remove most of their products from PSN[edit]

[1] - Apparently, Irem removed most of their PSN offerings, and closed their PSN Home Lounges somewhere between Aug 11 and Sept 1. Anyone able to confirm this? 24.156.216.144 (talk) 22:08, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bad Links in April Fools section[edit]

It looks like all the links in the April Fools section are obsolete. If anyone has newer links please update them. Tweisbach (talk) 08:44, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't find new links but did find that Irem actually made a Doki Doki Suikoden game, though with quite a lot of difference from the April Fools website. It does have 108 characters, destructible clothing and over 30 types of socks. Bizzybody (talk) 11:10, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Granzella[edit]

Granzella does not produce games, so far they have only been releasing places, costumes and items for the PSHome chat program. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:198:527:2:0:0:0:20 (talk) 12:46, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"No Death mode"[edit]

This article has a bit of an erroneous statement in the text.

Irem is also known for making their arcade games extremely difficult, and most of them feature a dip switch that allows you to play a "no death mode" as a result, in order to allow gamers to be able to complete their tough games.

"No death mode" is a debugging setting. In the modern age of emulation, one could be led to believe that the option is there to make things easier on gamers -- just go to the emulator's option menu, set "no death" dip switch option, and go! ... but in an actual arcade -- where profit is contingent on the player failing repeatedly and continuing -- this setting would not only be counterproductive, but impossible for the average gamer to do without opening the machine up and setting the dip switch on the motherboard itself. The only logical purpose for "no death" mode is as a relic of the game's development, where a programmer would need to go through the entire game without necessarily being skilled at it. The line should be corrected or removed outright.96.250.221.247 (talk) 15:52, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
